New media planning

For the step of planning new media, there were eight important elements included in new media plan, which is objective, target audience, platforms, calendar, samples, activities, monitor the evaluation and recommendation.

Firstly, we need to set out the objectives in new media plan, and we call the objectives as SMART, which is Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic and Time. To set out the objective, we need to make sure we can helps the company to fulfill the objectives. Secondly, we have to focus in our target audience. Target audience will be differential to internal audience and external audience. Internal target audience included employee, shareholders and staff. For the external target audience will be media and customer.

For the third element of new media plan, which is platforms outcome. For the platform, we have to select which channel are available using by public. Because different channel will target different audience, so we needs to focus it to select which channel can hit many target audience. In my opinion, Facebook new media social page are the largest channel used by public, and I believe it can put in our platform outcome because Facebook can helps us to target many different generations audience.

After set out few part of new media plan, we have start to plan our activities and calendar that launch the event. It can clearly to give company which activities are launch and the date, and also make employee can know more about each activities that the company launch. And also we have to come out gantt chart as our calendar. Besides, we also have to show few of samples in out proposal, it can make audience or company clearly to know how to launch the activities and what is the activities talk about. 


At the last two steps of new media plan, new media executive are very important in monitor the evaluation of the activities. New media executive can get feedback of audience and media from new media social page, it can clearly get the feedback from audience and know the event are successful accept or reject by public or not. At last, the last step is recommendation to difference from the old proposal. The new media executive and public relations practitioner can give more ideas to improve this proposal or list out what are the bad thing in this proposal, make sure wouldn’t happen again .
